Piercings
Everyone’s anatomy is different, which means that one person’s piercings may be positioned and heal differently to another’s. We work to individual requirements and are happy to design bespoke piercings. Remember piercings are body art so express yourself through jewellery! All equipment is fully sterilised before use. We only use the highest grade titanium metal for our piercings. Titanium is a hypoallergenic metal which reduces the risk of any skin reaction. We only use needles to pierce as it's the most hygienic, safe and gives the best piercings without causing any unnecessary trauma to the skin. The healing process varies from area to area but in depth information is provided upon consultation. Full aftercare advice is provided with every treatment and is without a doubt the most important factor for any piercing. Aftercare advice is ongoing through your healing process. We stock a range of after healing jewellery which I'm always happy to assist with.
Piercers Are Not Health Professionals We are often asked if we use any kind of numbing agent before a piercing procedure. Piercers do not have a license to administer anaesthetics including numbing creams so they should not be offering you this service. Most people find piercings are faster and less painful than they expect so there is no need for an anaesthetic of any kind. Technically, numbing creams should only be dispensed by a pharmacist or health care professional to the person it has been prescribed to.
If you are considering getting a piercing make sure that you are only being pierced in premises, such as Body Sparkle, that have met health and safety guidelines and ensure that your piercer has a license to perform piercing procedures. Piercing Legal Age Requirements In England, there is no legal age of consent to have a body piercing procedure performed. Persons looking to have intimate piercings such as genital and nipple (for females) piercings must be over 16. This is due to the fact that those under this age are unable to legally consent to have piercings in these areas. Any intimate piercing performed on anyone under age is considered, by law, as indecent assault. However at Body Sparkle and piercing we ask for all under 16s to have adult consent. Under 25s to show government ID. No gential piercings will be performed on anyone under 18. This is an over 18 piercing with ID.
